DAY 1: ARRIVAL & TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Your Chimpanzee Trekking Safari in Uganda begins with pickup from Kampala or Entebbe International Airport in the morning. Drive west toward Kibale National Park, passing lush countryside, traditional villages, and tea plantations along the way.

Arrive in the late afternoon and check in to your lodge nestled on the edge of the rainforest. Relax with dinner and prepare for your upcoming trek.

DAY 2: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING & BIGODI WETLAND WALK

After an early breakfast, proceed to the chimpanzee trekking starting point in Kibale Forest. Attend a mandatory briefing with park rangers on tracking etiquette and safety before entering the lush forest to find habituated chimpanzee troops.

Trekking can take 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimps, and once located you’ll have up to 1 hour with them, observing their playful, social behaviors among the forest canopy.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, home to many other primates, bird species, butterflies, and panoramic swamp scenery.
