DAY 1: ARUSHA/MOSHI – RONGAI GATE – FIRST CAVE CAMP

Meet your guide and transfer from Arusha or Moshi to Rongai Gate (2,150 m) for registration. Begin your trek entering the northern slopes, trekking through open moorland terrain before arriving at First Cave Camp.

DAY 2: FIRST CAVE CAMP – SECOND CAVE CAMP

After breakfast, cross rolling slopes and scenic ridges. Today’s trek offers sweeping views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks as you continue northward. You’ll reach Second Cave Camp, a slightly higher campsite ideal for acclimatization.

DAY 3: SECOND CAVE CAMP – KIRAMBO CAMP

Continue climbing through open moorland and rocky slopes toward Kirambo Camp (3,900 m). The rising altitude offers expansive views across the mountain’s southern ice fields. This is a key acclimatization day in preparation for the summit push.

DAY 4: KIRAMBO CAMP – MAWENZI TARN CAMP

Today’s trek leads you toward Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,330 m). The terrain becomes more alpine, and you’ll pass close to dramatic volcanic ridges. Take in the rugged beauty of Mawenzi and rest well, as altitude gains are significant.

DAY 5: MAWENZI TARN CAMP – KIBO HUT

After breakfast, depart Tarn Camp and trek gradually toward Kibo Hut (4,700 m) — your base camp for the summit attempt. Relax, prepare gear, and enjoy an early dinner followed by a summit briefing.

DAY 6: KIBO HUT – SUMMIT UHURU PEAK – MWEKA CAMP

Summit Day! Around midnight, begin the final push up the steep scree. Ascend through the night to reach Stella Point (5,685 m) at sunrise, then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) — Africa’s highest point. After celebrating, descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m) for rest.

DAY 7: MWEKA CAMP – MWEKA GATE – ARUSHA/MOSHI

Continue your descent through forest terrain to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your official summit certificate. Transfer back to Moshi or Arusha for celebrations, overnight, or departure.
