DAY 1: ARUSHA/MOSHI – UMBWE GATE – UMBWE CAVE CAMP

Your journey begins with a transfer from Arusha or Moshi to Umbwe Gate (1,680 m) where your trek starts. Enter the rainforest and climb steadily to Umbwe Cave Camp for your first night on the mountain.

DAY 2: UMBWE CAVE CAMP – SHIRA ONE CAMP

Today’s trek takes you out of the rainforest and on to the expansive Shira Plateau. Enjoy dramatic, open vistas as you gain altitude and make your way to Shira One Camp.

DAY 3: SHIRA ONE CAMP – BARRANCO CAMP

Climb through moorland and rocky slopes toward the Lava Tower (4,630 m) — a vital acclimatization point. After reaching the tower, descend to Barranco Camp for rest.

DAY 4: BARRANCO CAMP – KARANGA CAMP

This is a long and rewarding day. Climb the iconic Barranco Wall for spectacular panoramic views, then descend to Karanga Camp in the alpine zone.

DAY 5: KARANGA CAMP – BARAFU CAMP

DAY 6: BARAFU CAMP – UHURU PEAK – MWEKA CAMP

Summit Day! Depart around midnight and climb through the night to reach Stella Point (5,685 m) at sunrise. Continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) for unforgettable views. Descend to Mweka Camp for rest.

DAY 7: MWEKA CAMP – MWEKA GATE – ARUSHA/MOSHI

Complete your descent through lush forest to Mweka Gate, where you receive your official summit certificate. Transfer back to Arusha or Moshi for celebration, rest, and departure.
